Comparing Diwali with the Kings Brithday - Reading T4W2

Walt: Compare and contrast 2 or 3 celebrations ( Diwali with a celebration from your culture.)

This week I made a comparison between Diwali and a festival from my culture which is Tonga. The middle oval contained the similarities between the two and the sides were the differences. I enjoyed discovering the differences. Overall I think I would do this again.

Go Mrs.Tuakoi!!

Last week was Tongan Language Week. On the last day we held a little performance for Rooms 7&8 and for the Tongan group. My favourite performance was from Mrs.Tuakoi.

She did a little Tongan dance and it will be linked down the bottom. I enjoyed the dance and

I would like to see more of Mrs.Tuakoi dancing. It is really entertaining.

Tongan Language Week

So far our class has been learning about the Tongan language. Our school has also been celebrating in the office. In Tonga there is a counting system very similar to the Maori. I myself know the numbers off by heart and have no difficulty at all. In my school a majority of the stdents are Tongan.
