Summer Learning Journey Day #4 Activity #1

Today I will write down 5 questions that I would ask Sir Edmund Hillary.

1.) How did you feel as soon as  you reached the top of that mountain?

2.) If you could, would you climb the second tallest mountain?

3.) How did it feel when you were named Sir Edmund Hillary?

4.) Did your health take part in your success?

5.) If you could go back in time, would you change anything about yourself?

Summer Learning Journey Day #3 Activity #1

Today I will be describing my scary yet strange beast. Make sure to be as prepared as you can be!

Hoptomus is a beast who lives in one of the abandoned cities of Lithinielar. His fur is a dark shade of grey with dirt coated on top. His teeth look as if all he has ever eaten were dead animals. A gooey and slimy substance drools out of his mouth leading a revolting smell. Yuck! Hoptomus' eyebrows are bushy bricks and his stomach hangs out of his body. His eyes are filled with rage and anyone who dares to pass his land becomes dead meat. Are you willing to take on the challenge??

Summer Learning Journey Day #2 Activity #1

Accodring to the SLJ, this is the largest Kauri tree. It is actually called Tane Mahuta which means lord of the forest. Today I will tell you why I do not wish to visit this tree.

One of the reasons as to why I don't want to visit Tane Mahuta is because I have seen many trees in my lifetime. I know this sounds immature in a way but I have seen more than a dozen trees. This tree may be a wonder to talk about and to look at which is why I have picures online and experiences from other people that I know. I strongly believe that this tree does hold a ton of  importance but not enough to gravitate me towards.

Summer Learning Journey Day #1 Activity #1

Today I discovered some unique and amazing facts about the country I proudly come from - Aotearoa. However, since I had to pick only three, these are my chosen facts.

1.  The Auckland City Sky Tower is the tallest freestanding structure in the Southern Hemisphere at 328 meters high.

2. 30% of the country is forest.

3.  The most popular films in the country include ‘Once were Warriors’, ‘The Whale Rider’, ‘The Piano’ and the ‘Lord of the Rings’ trilogy.

I believe that these facts are pretty cool considering it involves our small country.

Day #2 Activity #1 - New Zealand by Land and Sea

I learnt that Dargaville has interesting history to it so I wanted to know more about it. I found out that Maraes are everywhere around this river. I also learnt that the person who established the township was Joseph McMullen. In the 1870's they did gum digging and kauri felling. Kauri gum is used to make plenty of things like statues and jewellery. From all the learning about Dargaville I think I would visit again!

The place that really stole my eyes was Karekare beach. The beautiful sunset and the smooth sand looked really pretty. Also that facts about this beach makes it very memorable. It would be a really good place to have a picnic and I would definitely like to go in Summer. This beach is not only a popular one  it is a beautiful and extraordinary beach that everyone should experience going to.

Day #1 Activity #1 - Pure New Zealand

1.  4.4 million people are standing upon New Zealand. There are about 69% of Europeans, 14.6% are native Maori, about 9.4% are Asians and 6.9% are Maori Pacific Islanders. Also, Hamilton and Christchurch which are the two of the main cities is where a majority of kiwis live.

2.More than four hundred years ago the Maori travelled thousands of miles across the unnamed Pacific Ocean and then became the first habitats of New Zealand (Aotearoa)

3. There is so much coast line which make kiwis love the water and to camp. It's also been loved to kayak, yacht and windsurf and row. They can also climb plenty of mountains like the famous and most active climber Edmund Hillary who climbed up the highest mountain in the world Mt.Everest.
