Summer Learning Journey Day #3 Activity #3

The WWF - World Wildlife Fund

1.) According to one of the WWF videos, they are trying to save the Saimaa Ringed Seals. If the Seals give birth on open ice, there are higher chances that predators will hunt them down making the numbers of this endangered specie decrease.

2.) What the WWF is doing to protect these animals is making snow banks for the Seals to give birth in. This way the little ones will be protected from the nasty predators.

3.) Because they are making snow banks, it is giving the Seals the opportunity to deliver their pupps without worrying about being hunted as prey by predators.

Kia ora Alicia,

This is a great explanation of what the WWF is doing to help protect the seals. It is really sad that this is the reality of the struggles that their species faces.

Keep up the great blogging!

Talk soon,

Sophie :)
