Summer Learning Journey Day #2 Activity #3

Today I will show you how to work out a Maths problem on this SLJ blog post!

To work this out you simply have to multiply 365 x 3.

300 x 3 = 900
60 x 3 = 180
5 x 3 = 15

900 + 180 = 1080
1080 + 15 = 1095

Therefore the answer is 1095ml.

Hey Alicia

Great strategy. You clearly show your working. That is a really important skill and will help you as the maths you learn becomes even more complex.

Way to go!

Kia Ora Alicia,
I believe that your strategy is very useful, I even use that strategy myself. How many digits do you think, you can multiply?

Hi Alicia! Good on you for taking part in the SLJ! This will definitely help you to be better prepared for college :).
I am so glad to see that you have used place value partitioning rather than an algorithm. Whenever I have a math problem to solve I use the same strategy as you.
Keep up the great work!

Talofa Lava Sosaia,
First of all I am very glad that you find this strategy very useful! However I don't quite understand your question... Anyways thank you for your awesome feedback! Is there any other strategy that you find easy to use while solving these type of math equations? Let me know!

Kia Ora Miss Donaldson,
I do agree with you and strongly believe that this will further extend my learning in these type of areas especially before college starts! I do find that using algotrithm on these questions make me confused which is why place value partitioning is always there to help me! Have a great day as always!

Alicia:)
