If I were to build a hotel anywhere and with anything, I would choose to make it from bricks in the wonderful city of Orlando, Florida. Why? Well, first of all, Tourists from all over the world come to Disneyland! This means that if they need a place to stay, they can come to my hotel!
Here is a view of what my hotel would look like in Florida -
I am a Year 8 student at Glen Innes School in Auckland, New Zealand. I am in Room 7 and my teacher is Mrs Tu'akoi.

Today I will write down 5 questions that I would ask Sir Edmund Hillary.
1.) How did you feel as soon as you reached the top of that mountain?
2.) If you could, would you climb the second tallest mountain?
3.) How did it feel when you were named Sir Edmund Hillary?
4.) Did your health take part in your success?
5.) If you could go back in time, would you change anything about yourself?

Today I will be listing down three advantages and three disadvantages being a DOC Ranger. I will then share whether I would or would not like to be one when I grow up.
Advantages of being a DOC Ranger
1.) You will get respect, recognition and opportunities
2.) You will get a good pay check
3.) You actually get to live where you work
Disadvantages of being a DOC Ranger
1.) Wild animals may hurt you in a bad way
2.) A storm could happen where you are
3.) It could be very hard working as one overall
In my opinion I do not really gravitate towards being a DOC Ranger. My reason to this is because I have another dream ahead of me - a Flight Attendant! I really want to become one so I can entertain people with me being entertained myself by getting to travel around the world! I hope everyone understands my opinion and also, being a DOC Ranger could be someone elses dream, you never know!

The WWF - World Wildlife Fund
1.) According to one of the WWF videos, they are trying to save the Saimaa Ringed Seals. If the Seals give birth on open ice, there are higher chances that predators will hunt them down making the numbers of this endangered specie decrease.
2.) What the WWF is doing to protect these animals is making snow banks for the Seals to give birth in. This way the little ones will be protected from the nasty predators.
3.) Because they are making snow banks, it is giving the Seals the opportunity to deliver their pupps without worrying about being hunted as prey by predators.

Today I will be describing my scary yet strange beast. Make sure to be as prepared as you can be!
Hoptomus is a beast who lives in one of the abandoned cities of Lithinielar. His fur is a dark shade of grey with dirt coated on top. His teeth look as if all he has ever eaten were dead animals. A gooey and slimy substance drools out of his mouth leading a revolting smell. Yuck! Hoptomus' eyebrows are bushy bricks and his stomach hangs out of his body. His eyes are filled with rage and anyone who dares to pass his land becomes dead meat. Are you willing to take on the challenge??

Today I will show you how to work out a Maths problem on this SLJ blog post!
To work this out you simply have to multiply 365 x 3.
300 x 3 = 900
60 x 3 = 180
5 x 3 = 15
900 + 180 = 1080
1080 + 15 = 1095
Therefore the answer is 1095ml.

Accodring to the SLJ, this is the largest Kauri tree. It is actually called Tane Mahuta which means lord of the forest. Today I will tell you why I do not wish to visit this tree.
One of the reasons as to why I don't want to visit Tane Mahuta is because I have seen many trees in my lifetime. I know this sounds immature in a way but I have seen more than a dozen trees. This tree may be a wonder to talk about and to look at which is why I have picures online and experiences from other people that I know. I strongly believe that this tree does hold a ton of importance but not enough to gravitate me towards.

In New Zealand, there's a place in which I like to call home - Auckland. According to some thorough reasearch Auckland is one of the most popular cities in New Zealand. Today I am going to describe my hometown and hopefully share with you how special it really is to me.
In Auckland it is very busy. However it is still so beautiful in many ways. The friendliness that is shown around makes our city wonderful. In Auckland there are many tourist attractions such as the amazing Rainbows End, The Skytower and many more. My hometown is very good and fresh, and it is as if I live in a paradise. One of the highlights of visiting Auckland are some of the beaches. There is one beach called Maraetai Beach and it is out south I believe. The waters are crystal clear and the wharf is big enough to fit your whole family + extended! According to my exprience it was amazing and I would definitely reccomend going there.
Overall Auckland really is a place you would want to be. It is full of opportunities and fun activities. But lets not forget about the others!

Today I discovered some unique and amazing facts about the country I proudly come from - Aotearoa. However, since I had to pick only three, these are my chosen facts.
1. The Auckland City Sky Tower is the tallest freestanding structure in the Southern Hemisphere at 328 meters high.
2. 30% of the country is forest.
3. The most popular films in the country include ‘Once were Warriors’, ‘The Whale Rider’, ‘The Piano’ and the ‘Lord of the Rings’ trilogy.
I believe that these facts are pretty cool considering it involves our small country.

You have strongly convinced me that while reading books,
you are on a fantastic journey with friends.

Today I completed my infographic on earthworms. My infographic contains facts and information about how earthworms help protect the environment. I really believe that this has actually helped expand my knowledge on earthworms because I did research. Hopefully our class is able to communicate more in order for all of us to have a better understanding.

Our first rugby competition!
Last night was very special to a group of girls because we got the opportunity to represent our school while playing for Marist in a girls rugby competition. Although we lost we never gave an attitude towards the other team. It was very challenging but we managed to make the other team try harder. For a rugby team who has trained for way less than a month, I can say that we did exceptionaly well and I am proud of all of them. Hopefully in the next five days we are able to show an even powerful team. Way to go girls!

Reading Comprehension - Composting
This afternoon I had completed a reading task relating to our term3 topic - composting. We were given a text followed by questions to answer. These questions made me realise that there are more ways we are able to save money while creating less trouble in our city. I hope that we could be given a different set of questions in the future in order to expand my knowledge in this topic.

Name Art - T3W1
Today I have completed my art which was basically drawing my name followed by something that could represent what my personality is and where I am from. I really enjoyed doing this art because I think this strongly represents who I am and I am proud of it. I hope that next weeks art will connect to something I have heard of or know plenty about of.

Prototec
Today I sat a stage 7 sheet prototec. My results were good as I received the whopping percentage of 95%. Everything was 10 out of 10 except for my Fractions and Percentages. I really do think that my weak area is Fractions and Percentages so to get rid of it I will practice consistently until I have got the hang of it. I really enjoyed doing this and next time my goal is to reach 100% or at least 99%.

Cinquain Poem
Yesterday I was given a task of writing a cinquain poem. I decided to write about Music because it is what I tend to usually listen to when I'm bored. While I was writing it I was struggling a bit trying to find expensive words but I believe I did a decent job. I really enjoyed creating this poem and I will definitely be looking forward to writing different styles of poetry.

Silhouette Art
Today I completed my art called " Silhouette art". I really enjoyed doing this but one downside to it was that it looked really messy in the end. Yes I believe Mr.Ramkolowan that it was supposed to look like this but I wasn't exactly into it. I hope that for our next art, it includes more vibrant and light colours.

Culture Festival Day
Brrrriiiiinnnnggg! My alarm went. It was the day!
I jumped out of bed with enthusiasm and showered. It was culture festival!
I quickly put my clothes on and rushed out the door.
We had to make a quick stop so I hurriedly purchased
a few bags of my favourite assortment of lollies.

When I arrived at school, I waved my mother goodbye and headed towards my teacher
because she needed help with the Tongan costumes. I danced my way towards room
seven and started to eat my lollies. Not long after my arrival, the bell went.
Literally the whole block of the morning was dedicated to the Tongan Group polishing their
dance moves. If you were wondering, I was in the Tongan group! It was such a fun experience getting
to learn a new tau'olunga. Approximately an hour later, my mum had arrived to help me get dressed
into my costume. After all my complaining about the clips pinching me, we managed to make my
costume look close to perfect. Then it was time. Time to show the school what we worked hard on
over the past eight and a half weeks. Just a few finishing touches with some cherry red lipstick and I
was all set to go.

As the other groups were performing we cheered them on to boost their confidence.
Personally my favourite group was the Cook Island groups item. The moves were so
beautiful and refreshing and their outfits were outstanding! After that it was our turn. I was more nervous than anything but my mum and friends helped me believe in myself. I truly believe that this was the reason why I think the whole group did outstandingly well. We all helped each other out and that was the main thing that day. Surprisingly my mum came to the stage and gave me a generous amount of money! I was so grateful because she did not have to do such thing but she went out of her way to do so.

Overall I think that last thursday was the best day of 2018 so far.
I thoroughly enjoyed it and I strongly believe that if I can accomplish dancing on a stage in
front of the whole school and parents, I can do anything in life.
